Alamo is about 22 minutes from us down I-680 — an unincorporated pocket of large-lot estate properties between Walnut Creek and Danville.
Big lots mean long buried services, and long buried services are where most of our Alamo work originates. Call +1 (201) 277-9344.
Everything buried is longer here
On an estate lot, the sewer lateral, the water service, the irrigation mains and the drainage system all run considerably further than they would on a standard parcel. Every additional foot is another foot that can fail, and another set of joints for roots to find.
- Irrigation leaks are our single most common Alamo call. An underground main or lateral can leak for months with nothing visible except a greener, softer patch of lawn and an EBMUD bill that stepped up. See leak detection.
- Root-invaded sewer laterals under mature oaks, with the same mechanism that defines the Lamorinda wooded lots. Long runs, many joints, older pipe. See sewage cleanup.
- Buried drainage installed decades ago, silted or collapsed, invisible until the storm that tests it.
The five-minute diagnostic for all of these: shut off the irrigation valve, then watch the meter with everything else off. If it stops, it is irrigation. If it keeps moving, the leak is between the meter and the house.
Estate homes and the cost of a loss
Alamo property values put most losses firmly in high-value restoration territory, where the question is whether the material survives rather than how fast the building dries. Longer, gentler drying on irreplaceable hardwood and specialty finishes, controlled handling for art, wine and rugs, and documentation to the standard carriers such as Chubb and PURE expect. See residential water damage restoration.
A practical note on access: long private drives on estate lots determine whether the truck-mount reaches the house. Tell us when you call and the right vehicle arrives first time.

Why Alamo residents choose us
Every restoration company claims 24/7 and certification. These are the reasons that are specific to working in Alamo.
Twenty-two minutes down I-680
Long private drives on estate lots add a few minutes, which is why we ask about access before dispatching.
On these lots we suspect irrigation first
Estate parcels mean long buried irrigation runs that leak for months with nothing visible but a greener patch of lawn and a stepped-up bill. It is our most common Alamo call.
Long laterals, mature oaks, predictable outcome
More distance means more joints for roots to find. A repeat backup here means camera inspection and lining rather than another rootering.
High-value handling as the default
Slower, gentler drying on irreplaceable hardwood, controlled specialist handling for art, wine and rugs, and documentation to the standard high-value carriers expect.

Alamo water damage FAQs
How do I find an irrigation leak on a large Alamo lot?
Shut off the irrigation valve specifically, then watch the water meter with everything else in the house off. If the leak indicator stops moving, you have isolated it to the irrigation system and the search is outdoors rather than in your walls. If it keeps moving, the leak is between the meter and the house. That five-minute test saves a great deal of guessing on a parcel this size.
My Alamo water bill jumped hundreds of dollars. Where do I start?
Irrigation, almost certainly, on a lot this size. Shut off the irrigation valve specifically, then check your meter with everything else off — if the leak indicator stops moving, you have isolated it to the irrigation system. Underground irrigation leaks run for months with nothing visible except a patch of lawn that is greener and softer than the rest, and on a large estate lot the volume adds up quickly.
Why are sewer backups common on large Alamo lots?
Length and trees. An estate lot means a long sewer lateral with many joints, and mature oaks send fine feeder roots toward the moisture weeping from every one of them. The roots enter, thicken inside the pipe, and eventually form a mat that catches solids. Repeat backups mean the line needs camera inspection and probably lining or replacement — rootering clears the mat but leaves every entry point intact.
How far are you from Alamo?
About 22 minutes down I-680 from our Lafayette base. Alamo is a Tier 2 area for us, so we come for the full range of work but we quote honest drive times rather than our Lamorinda dispatch target. Long private drives add a few minutes at the end, which is why we ask about access when you call.
