Terms of Service

Last updated August 23, 2026

These terms apply to your use of waterlafayette.com. Restoration work itself is governed by the written work authorization and scope you sign before we begin, which takes precedence over anything on this page.

Using this website

You may use this site for lawful purposes and to find information about our services. You may not attempt to interfere with its operation, scrape it at a volume that affects other users, or reproduce substantial portions of its content without permission.

The information here is guidance, not a diagnosis

We publish detailed guidance on this site because we think it helps. It is general information about how water damage behaves and how restoration works — it is not an assessment of your specific property, and it cannot be. Nobody can scope a water loss without walking the property and taking moisture readings.

Do not rely on this site in place of professional advice for your situation. In particular:

  • Safety guidance here is general. If there is any risk from electricity, gas or structural movement, leave the building and call the fire department.
  • Insurance guidance describes how policies commonly work in California. Your policy is the authority, and coverage questions should go to your carrier or a licensed public adjuster.
  • Legal points about landlord obligations, HOA responsibility and lease terms are general context. Get advice from a California attorney for anything contested.
  • Cost ranges are ranges. They are not quotes and they are not offers.

Pricing

Cost figures published on this site are indicative ranges drawn from industry sources and our own experience. They do not constitute a quotation. A price for your job comes from a written scope produced after an on-site assessment.

Estimates and work authorization

We provide a written scope before work begins wherever the situation allows. In a genuine emergency, mitigation may begin under an emergency work authorization with the full scope following once the extent is known — which is standard practice, because waiting for a complete scope while water spreads costs more than it saves.

Additional work discovered once assemblies are opened is discussed with you before it proceeds, except where an immediate safety or contamination issue requires action.

Insurance

We bill insurance carriers directly where you ask us to and where the carrier accepts it. That is a convenience, not a guarantee of coverage. Your policy determines what is covered, and you remain responsible for your deductible and for any amounts your carrier declines.

Response times

Our 60-minute dispatch target applies to Lafayette and the wider Lamorinda area under normal conditions. Drive times published for other areas are typical estimates. During a widespread storm event we triage by severity and will tell you honestly where you are in the queue. These are commitments to how we operate, not contractual guarantees of arrival time.

Third-party links

Where we link to external resources, we do not control them and are not responsible for their content.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by California law, Water Lafayette Restoration Services is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here limits our obligations under a signed work authorization or under California contractor law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Contra Costa County, California.
